Kelly Martin Promoted to Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at Jax State

Jacksonville, AL (04/01/2025) — Jacksonville State University has announced the promotion of Kelly Martin to Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment. A proud Jax State alumna, Martin has dedicated her career to student enrollment, recruitment, and outreach, bringing a wealth of experience to her new role.

Martin most recently served as Director of Enrollment Initiatives in the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, where she played a pivotal role in recruitment strategies for post-traditional/adult and transfer students, as well as bilingual parent and family outreach. She began her career at Jax State as an admissions counselor, guiding prospective students through the enrollment process.

Jessica Wiggins, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, said Martin's expertise and passion for Jax State made her the perfect choice to lead the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. "Kelly's expertise and experience in enrollment and recruitment, coupled with her passion for serving students and affinity for Jax State, made her the ideal candidate for this position. We are thrilled to have Kelly as our new Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment," Wiggins said.

A 2015 graduate of Jax State with a BA in Spanish, Martin later earned her MA in Spanish from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2019. Her connection to the university runs deep-during her undergraduate years, she worked as a student worker in the Admissions Office and served as a JSU Ambassador, gaining firsthand experience in student engagement and university admissions.

Martin expressed her excitement about stepping into this leadership role and continuing the work she is passionate about. "I am incredibly excited to serve in this role and to work with such a high-performing team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions," she said. "As a proud alumna of Jacksonville State, I look forward to helping students choose Jax State for their higher education journey."

Now leading the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Martin is eager to build on the university's recruitment efforts and help prospective students feel confident and excited about choosing Jax State as the place to pursue their degree.
