Vincent Mason to Headline Spirit on Mountain Street at Jax State August 20

Jacksonville, AL (08/14/2026) — Jacksonville's biggest street festival is back! Spirit on Mountain Street returns on Thursday, August 20, bringing an evening of incredible food, family fun, and live music featuring one of country music's fastest-rising artists, Vincent Mason.

Hosted by the Jacksonville State University Student Government Association, the free event invites the entire community to Mountain Street, next to Jax State's AmFirst Stadium, to help kick off the new school year.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with Taste of the Town, where local restaurants will serve up their most popular menu items in exchange for $1 tasting tickets. The evening will also include a Kids Zone, Cornhole Tournament, Golf Simulator, vendor booths, and other family-friendly activities. Admission is free and open to the public.

The music takes center stage with an outdoor concert featuring Vincent Mason beginning at 7:45 p.m.

A native of Roswell, Georgia, Mason has quickly emerged as one of country music's most promising young artists, blending heartfelt storytelling with contemporary country influences. Inspired by artists like Parker McCollum and John Mayer, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter has amassed more than 200 million streams across digital platforms. His breakout hit, "Hell is a Dance Floor," from his debut EP Can't Just Be Me, has earned millions of streams and widespread playlist support, while his music has also drawn praise from John Mayer. After selling out his debut headlining tour, Mason has shared the stage with artists including Riley Green, Parker McCollum, Luke Bryan, Megan Moroney, and Gavin Adcock, cementing his reputation as one of country music's rising stars.

Now in its 20th year, Spirit on Mountain Street is co-hosted by Jacksonville State University, Aligned Insurance, and the City of Jacksonville. The festival has grown into the city's largest outdoor celebration, bringing together students, families, and residents for an evening of shared community spirit. Proceeds benefit the Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center, which provides vital financial assistance to local families in need.
