Jacksonville State senior Hunter Ballard was one of just 29 students selected from universities across the country for the prestigious MateriAlZ Winter School, a five-day conference held January 5-9 at the renowned Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona. When the acceptance email arrived in November, Ballard was ecstatic-not only had he secured a coveted spot, but he also stood out as the only biology major in a group largely composed of engineers and physicists.

Jax State Nursing Ambassadors are a select group of upper division nursing students chosen for their commitment to service, leadership, and dedication to the program. These students serve as official representatives of the School of Nursing at University functions, School of Nursing events, and assist in recruitment activities. On July 26 each year, the Americans with Disabilities Act is celebrated throughout the country as ADA Day. However, 365 days of the year, Jacksonville State University works to provide students with disabilities the support they need to pave the road to success.
