The Jacksonville State University Programming Team earned Gold and Bronze medals at the 2025-26 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Southeast USA Division 2 Competition, held at the Georgia Tech site. Competing for the first time in this prestigious event, Jax State students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, problem-solving skills, and competitive spirit among universities from across the Southeast region.

As a student at Jacksonville State University, Ellington Jones has lived by the philosophy, "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable." Jones credits that mantra with propelling her to being crowned Miss Jacksonville State University 2026 on Friday night. "I am by no means good at the pageant world," said Jones, a 21-year-old grad student majoring in business administration. "While I am no stranger to the stage, I am new to this whole new world. I have a competitor's grit and love a challenge. Last year, going into Miss JSU week, I was nervous about each step. This year, I felt peace the entire time and just decided to have fun with the whole process, no matter the outcome." Jones was named First Runner Up to Miss JSU 2025 McKenzie Fuller. Though she was proud of her performance last year, Jones couldn't deny the desire to compete again for the ultimate prize.

McKenzie Fuller was crowned Miss Jacksonville State University 2025 on Friday night in Leone Cole Auditorium, fulfilling a lifelong dream and making history in the process. Growing up, Fuller dreamed of becoming Miss JSU. By making that dream a reality, the Applied Chemistry major from Ohatchee, Alabama, also made history becoming the first woman of color to be crowned Miss JSU.

The Chanticleer, Jacksonville State University's student newspaper, was recognized during the annual College Media Association's (CMA) conference by winning six Pinnacle Awards, including Website of the Year (standalone). According to the CMA, the Pinnacle Awards honor "the best college media organizations and individual work." According to the CMA, the Website of the Year award "recognizes excellence in overall coverage, content and content delivery, design, reporting, writing and editing, multimedia, special projects, cross-platform integration, service to the campus community and interactivity."

Ashanthe Gathers of Villa Rica, Ga., was named the second annual recipient of the Darby Angle Acts of Kindness Scholarship during the Miss JSU 2023 on Jan. 13.

Voice performance major Lauren Kilgore of Moody, Ala., was named first runner-up in the annual Miss JSU pageant on Jan. 13 at Leone Cole Auditorium. She also won the talent portion of the competition.

Morgan Carroll, a business management major from Moulton, Ala., won the talent portion and placed first runnerup in the Miss JSU 2022 pageant.

Criminal justice major Kaylee Knight of Monroeville, Ala. was crowned Miss JSU 2022 during the annual pageant held at Leone Cole Auditorium on Jan. 21. She will represent the university at the Miss Alabama pageant this June.

Secondary education major Lily Grace Vernon of Jacksonville, Ala., was crowned Miss JSU 2023 during the annual pageant held at Leone Cole Auditorium on Jan. 13. She will represent the university at the Miss Alabama pageant this June.

Briana Caudle of Huntsville, Ala. was named first runner-up in the Miss Jacksonville State University pageant on Jan. 10, 2020.

Nursing major Camden Swatts of Beauregard, Ala. was crowned Miss JSU 2020 during the annual pageant held at Leone Cole Auditorium on Jan. 10. She will represent the university at the Miss Alabama pageant this June.

Seven young women competed for the Miss Jacksonville State University crown on Jan. 10, 2020. The winner will go on to represent the university at the Miss Alabama pageant in June.

Isaac Graham of Clanton, Ala. was named to Homecoming Court 2019 at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16. Isaac is majoring in communications.

Elie Mulonda was named to Homecoming Court 2019 at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16. Elie is an international student from Nigeria and is majoring in computer science. He serves as a Gamecock Orientation (GO!) Leader.

Michael Ray of Dallas, Ga., was named to Homecoming Court 2019 at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16. Michael is majoring in applied engineering and is a member of the Marching Southerners.

Sean Godfrey of Montgomery was named to Homecoming Court 2019 at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16. Sean is majoring in integrated studies.

Taylor Anne Beckham of Clifton, Tenn., was named to Homecoming Court 2019 at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16. Taylor Anne is majoring in biology and serves as a JSU Ambassador. She was first runner-up in the 2018 Miss JSU Pageant.

For the second year in a row, Huntsville native Briana Caudle was named to Homecoming Court at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16, 2019. Caudle serves as a JSU Ambassador.

Harrison Cheatwood was elected Homecoming King by his peers at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16, 2019. He was honored during halftime at the Homecoming football game on Oct. 19. Harrison is a management major and a member of the Student Senate.

Abbie Beatty of Jacksonville, Ala. was elected Homecoming Queen 2019 by her peers at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16, 2019. She was honored during halftime at the Homecoming football game on Oct. 19. Abbie is a drama major and a Marching Ballerina.

Brooke Robinson was named to Homecoming Court 2019 at Jacksonville State University on Oct. 16. Brooke is majoring in communications and serves as a Gamecock Ambassador.

Jakobe Perry was honored as part of JSU's 2018 Homecoming Court on Sept. 29.
