Jax State Doctoral Student Antoine B. Richards Honored with 40 Under 40 Award
Antoine B. Richards, Jax State Emergency Management doctoral student, has been recognized as one of the honorees of the 2024 40 Under 40 Award by the U.S. Council of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM-USA). The announcement was made during the IAEM Plugged In Virtual Conference on April 18, 2024. The IAEM-USA 40 Under 40 Award is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon individuals under 40 who have demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and achievements in emergency management. This honor is a testament to the remarkable contributions and hard work of emerging professionals making significant strides in their careers and positively impacting their communities and the emergency management profession.

Jax State's Addy Smith Receives National Scholarship
Jax State Social Work major Addy Smith has been named a recipient of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA) Graduate Program Scholarship. This scholarship is for individuals planning to work directly with children. Ms. Smith will be recognized at the NAJA annual conference in Memphis, TN and included in NAJA's magazine "The Crownlet." Since 1962, the NAJA Graduate Scholarship Program has awarded more than 600 scholarships, totaling $1,515,504 for graduate studies in fields addressing the special needs of children and youth.

Omicron Delta Kappa Celebrates New Members
Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, welcomed 1,971 new initiates from 78 universities during April 2022. Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.
